Jobs

Pioneer School District serves approximately 700 P-8 students and encompasses a rural area east of Shelton in the South Puget Sound region. Our community is known for having a strong commitment to supporting our schools and our students. Our district is committed to ensuring that every student achieves high levels of learning every day. We want every member of our community to thrive — it’s the Pioneer Way.

We are seeking highly qualified candidates for administrative, certificated, classified, and substitute positions across our district. Explore our current openings below, and check back regularly for updates and new positions.

  • Substitutes Teachers-please apply on ED JOBS NW or contact HR for more information

  • Substitute Classified-please apply on ED JOBS NW or contact HR for more information

  • We are so excited to have you in our community.

Student teachers and interns are important to us, and universities are encouraged to request placements for practicum and field experiences to help prepare the next generation of Pioneer School District teachers.

    Our Cooperating Teachers
The responsibility of the cooperating teacher is to provide a meaningful experience that enhances the student’s career development. Our selection criteria includes teachers with at least three years of teaching experience, are in good standing in the district, and exhibit the skills necessary to work collaboratively with future teachers to insure their success.

    Student Teachers/Interns & Practicum Candidates
Student Teacher/Practicum/Intern placements are a result of formal agreements between Pioneer School District and cooperating universities. Before a student teacher/intern may be placed in one of the District's schools, a formal agreement with the university must be on file in Human Resources.

If you are a university and would like to request a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) or confirm that your university has an active MOU, please send an email to akoster@psd402.org. The process to finalize the MOU can take up to six weeks and does not include the time it takes to facilitate the placement. Please plan accordingly for placing students in a timely manner. The District reserves the right to decline a partnership with any Institution.

    Short Term Observation Candidates
Short Term Observations can be requested directly from the Human Resource Department by emailing akoster@psd402.org. Short Term Observation Candidates will be asked to complete a Volunteer Application. Once an observation candidate completes the volunteer application and is cleared through a Washington State background check, the candidate may schedule the observation directly with the cooperating teacher.
