Pioneer Food Service

The Child Nutrition Services Department is made up of a team of food and nutrition professionals that are dedicated to students’ health, wellbeing and their ability to learn. We support learning by promoting healthy habits for lifelong nutrition and fitness practices.

We are pleased to announce that Pioneer School District will be participating in the federal program Community Eligibility Provision (CEP).  In a CEP school, all students receive a nutritious breakfast and lunch at no cost, regardless of family income.

The Pioneer School District Child Nutrition Breakfast and Lunch programs use a lot of fresh fruits and vegetables food offerings and incorporate scratch cooking as much as possible.  Breakfast is available at all schools and all district students may purchase a variety of hot lunch selections or fresh fruit and vegetables. We provide free and reduced-price meals for eligible students.

Wellness is a Way of Life!
The need for students to eat more healthful foods and get more exercise is getting a lot of attention in schools these days.  Over the last several school years we've been putting in place a number of changes to make our meals even more nutritious for our customers.  For example, all of the meals we serve for breakfast or lunch must include fruit or vegetable servings.  In addition, snack and beverage items sold during school hours must meet specific nutrition standards.
