I consider it a privilege and pleasure to be your school nurse this year. I look forward to meeting all of you. As a teacher turned nurse, I understand the connection between wellness and effective learning and am committed to doing all that I can to serve you well. As the school year approaches, it is a priority to have “Individualized Health Plans” and “Emergency Health Plans” in place for students with diagnoses indicating specific care at school.
I am looking forward to meeting with all who need this service and have set aside September 5th – 12th for appointments with parents/guardians to make sure we are prepared for the first day of school. I will be reaching out to you all to make appointments, but you can also contact me at 360-427-2737 to set up an appointment.
A “permission for medication administration at school” form can be found on this website. This form is required for any student who will be given medications at school, and it will make for best practice if we have everything in place before the first day of school.
A reminder to kindergarten parents/guardians, please remember to turn in your child’s “Certification of Immunization Status” and “Student Health Information” forms before the first day of school.
I welcome you to contact me with any questions or concerns.
Misty Niehl, RN
