Change to April 2018 School Board Meeting Dates

The Pioneer Board of Directors have scheduled the following meetings for the month of April.

On April 16, 2018, the Board will have a two-hour executive session to evaluate the qualifications of applicants for public employment.

On April 24, 2018, the Board will have a two-hour executive session to evaluate the qualifications of applicant for public employment.


The monthly regular scheduled board meeting has been moved to Wednesday, April 25th beginning at 7:00 pm in the Administration Board Room.

Spring Break is scheduled for April 2-6, 2018.  School resumes on Monday, April 9th at 8:30 am.

Superintendent Job Announcement


Notice is hereby given that the Board of Directors for the Pioneer School District will be joining the Hood Canal Board of Directors for a Special Joint School Board Meeting on March 20, 2018 beginning at 6:30 pm.  The topic of discussion will be to debrief the election efforts and a vision for the future.  The meeting will be held in the Hood Canal School Library located at 111 North State Route 106, Shelton, WA.  The public is invited to attend.

Community Focus Group for Superintendent Search

The Board is in the process of searching for our next superintendent.  As a community member, the Board values your opinion and would like to invite you to provide feedback on desired characteristics for our next superintendent.

Please consider attending a community forum on Tuesday, March 13th beginning at 6:00 pm at the Middle School.  The forum will be led by Dr. Roger Rada from Northwest Leadership Association.  If you are not able to attend, you can still provide your input by filling out the online survey on the District website (

However, you choose to participate, your input will be used to develop a list of desired characteristics to guide the search for Pioneer’s next superintendent.
